The Painted Primrose opened it's doors on  September 15, 2001, four short days after September 11th. It began as a shabby chic, home accessories store featuring scented candles, scoops of french lavender, chippy paint furniture and dried flower arrangements. It was the culmination of a life-long dream by the owner Sarah Cioni. Shortly after the grand opening of the shop, a local resident stopped by to asked Sarah if she could design wedding flowers for her son's wedding, as the hired florist was suddenly taken ill. Never known to pass up a challenge, Sarah quickly said yes. The wedding was exquisite and word of her design ability spread like wildfire. By 2004, The Painted Primrose was featured in both Romantic Homes and Sunset Magazines. The Painted Primrose was also awarded Best of Boulder Gold for two consecutive years.

In 2006, Sarah was hired to manage a popular Boulder flower shop that specialized in wedding flowers. Shortly thereafter, she was lured away by a prominent Florist and Greenhouse, where Sarah was quickly promoted to Head Designer. Today, with a world of experience under her belt, Sarah is once again back with her one true love, The Painted Primrose Flower Shop, located in Boulder Colorado. And she has never been happier!!!!!

With a degree in Fine Art and years of living in Europe, Sarah brings the unexpected to the world of floral design. She has a passion for flowers and absolutely loves being a Boulder Florist located at the base of the majestic Rocky Mountains.
